If flashback is about seeing the past, the flash forward is the reverse of the flashback. It is to see the future. The spectator is brought to the future to have a “peek” of what the characters will look like. It can be used to tell the fate of the character, or else, if the movie has “twisted ending” the flash forward can be a tool to make a very unpredictable ending.
